Welcome to the Tippecanoe County Volunteer Examiner Team WWW site! The Tippecanoe County VE Team, a member of the Laurel VEC, offers free amateur radio license examinations in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. This web site has information on upcoming testing sessions, local amateur resources, and more.

• All examinations are free

• Pre-registration is required for all examination sessions

• You MUST have an FRN to register.

The FCC charges a $35 fee for certain applications:

• An application for a new license

• An application for a vanity call sign

  • The Laurel VEC cannot process vanity call sign applications

• An application to renew a license

There is no fee for license upgrades, requests for a new systemic call sign, or administrative changes, such as an address change or name change.

The Tippecanoe County VE Team is committed to providing accessible testing sessions. Accommodations are available to any individual who requests them in advance. Accommodations offered by the team include, but are not limited to:

• Large Print Exam

  • Applicants may request a large print copy of any amateur radio examination.

• Exam Read

  • Applicants may request to have the exam read to them. Three VEs will take turns reading questions and answers. The applicant can mark the answer sheet themselves, or request a VE to mark the answer sheet in accordance with the applicant's choice of answer.

• Answer Marking Assistance

  • Applicants may request that VEs mark their answer sheet on their behalf in accordance with their choice of answer
